  "Blue Fish and Ladies"

"The Blue Fish" have been surfacing in my works since 2003.  They aren't planned they just arrive.  The presence of "Blue Fish" is like understanding a dream, the enlightenment of a conversation, or the satisfaction we find in a solitary moment. We can't explain it-- it is what it is.

"A Bird That Can Sing, A Blue Fish, A Ring"

This elusive ring, symbol of love surfaces again, remember "Chaos With the Red Cat'?  Who is the bird singing to or for?  Perhaps the ring is for the "Blue Fish" or maybe a lover?

"Temptation with Apples and Small Talk"

The "Blue Fish" is tempted by the apple. Who will wear the ring?  What is the little bird singing, or is this all an illusion on this perfect summer day?

"A Bird in Hand, A Blue Fish and Ring on a String"

Is the ring truly someone's?

Print Information

Along with Russell's passion to paint he has always had the drive to create through the print medium.  He studied printmaking in art school and apprenticed at several print shops exploring many different techniques including lithography, offset, and screen printing.  His thirty years of printmaking continue as he executes the fine art of reproducing his own giclee prints. Owning the finest equipment available Russell calibrates his own colors to expertly match the original.  Each is hand worked to make it one of-a-kind pieces of art-- hand coloring, collages, or mixed media.  He prefers working in small editions from as few as one piece to a small run of 100.  He prints with museum quality archival inks on archival papers and canvas that have been tested for up to 125 years.
